Vancouver Island Brewing is launching its new Pod Pack collab mix-pack with a party on the water to benefit the Pacific Salmon Foundation’s efforts to save the southern resident orcas.

Dubbed Pod Fest, the July 20 event features tons of craft beer, live music, food trucks and the debut screening of the Pod Pack documentary—all of which takes place on a floating barge next to the Ogden Point breakwater.

The Pod Pack is an eight-pack tall can mixer featuring four different collab beers by Vancouver Island Brewing and fellow Island breweries White Sails BrewingTwin City BrewingÎle Sauvage Brewing Co. and Land And Sea Brewing Company. One dollar from every pack will be donated to preserving wild B.C. salmon stocks, a vital food source for the critically endangered southern resident orcas.

All the participating breweries will be on hand at the floating beer garden, pouring their beer. Admission is $10, which includes your first drink and a $5 donation to the Pacific Salmon Foundation. Donations will also be accepted for PSF throughout the evening. Tickets are available for two sessions; from 1 p.m.–4 p.m. or 5 p.m.–8 p.m.
