Employees at a Shoppers Drug Mart store in Vancouver's Yaletown neighbourhood and a Superstore in Coquitlam have recently tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of national chains Shoppers Drug Mart and Real Canadian Superstore provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings on Jan. 19.

The following stores are affected:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 1006 Homer Street, Vancouver: The last day the team member worked was on Jan. 15.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 3000 Lougheed Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on Jan. 6.

Elsewhere in the province, and in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, on Jan. 18, Loblaw indicated a worker at its Sewak's Your Independent Grocer at 8200 Bear Paw Trail in Whistler had tested positive for the virus and last worked Jan. 15.

None of the stores are considered public exposure sites by Fraser Health (Coquitlam) or Vancouver Coastal Health (Vancouver and Whistler).

There are currently 14 Loblaw-owned stores across B.C. with active exposure notifications.
