A 50-year-old woman is set to appear in court today (Sept. 24) after threatening staff at a local restaurant with needles.

Prince George RCMP say they were called to a restaurant at the corner of Victoria Street and 20th Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 23) where an irate woman was believed to be intoxicated by drugs.

She was arrested without incident despite being heavily agitated and there were no reported injuries.

A further investigation determined she was in possession of stolen cheques and was breaching conditions of a previous release order.

Charges are pending by the BC Prosecution Service, Mounties explain.

No other information is being released at this time.
