You don't need to worry about street parking restrictions downtown and near UHNBC for the time being.

The City of Prince George says free parking is now available and it will not be enforcing time limits temporarily due to COVID-19.

The temporary change applies to both on-street parking as well as non-reserved off-street parking.

"Parking Control Officers will continue to enforce safety-related parking issues throughout the City including downtown, and to provide enforcement for all customer-reserved parking stalls located in parking lots," a city release says.

Motorists are being asked by the city to respect reserved stalls in the parking lots to avoid enforcement action. Violations of the parking bylaws related to handicapped parking spaces and illegal parking will continue to be enforced as usual.

Customers that currently park in city parkades and wish to cancel their parking spot for the time being to take advantage of the street parking will be offered a pro-rated refund.

You are asked to contact Parking Control by calling 250-561-7622 or emailing bylawservices@princegeorge.ca.
