It's a sad sight and almost helpless situation at times, but a Prince George action team is stepping forward to clean up downtown streets for winter.

The Prince George Community Action Team will be downtown this Monday (Dec. 2) from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to clean up litter before the snow settles in,

The group represents a multisectoral response to B.C.'s current overdose epidemic, bringing organizations together to play an invaluable role in saving lives, strengthening local partnerships and connecting individuals to treatment and recovery options.

The team is inviting anyone who would like to give a hand to join and show downtown some love, have a hot lunch and give back to the city we all call home.

Gloves, bags, tongs and pickers will be provided at the event.

The meeting place is Community Foundation Park at the corner of Dominion Street and Seventh Ave. next to the Four Seasons Pool.
