Starting tomorrow (Aug. 1), B.C. Minor Baseball is hosting year-end championships across several divisions in various cities bringing excitement and high-hopes for local associations.

Six Prince George programs will be among those contending for a league pennant in their respective age groups, including the Under-15 Knights on home soil at Nechako Park.

“Who knows, one day one of these kids in this tournament may be fortunate enough to be the next MLB prospect,” said Bantam Head Coach Curtis Sawchuk in an earlier interview with PrinceGeorgeMatters. “But more importantly, to just support local youth sports in Prince George. My goal at the beginning of all this was to give the kids an experience of a lifetime and something they will tell their kids when they get older.”

For three of the local clubs, including the Under-15 bantams, these will act as a tune-up tournament for Baseball B.C. Provincials later this month.
