North District and Prince George RCMP have released more details of a 2019 homicide near West Lake.

In a release, Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says police responded to numerous calls later determined to be related to the case.

They first received a tip of a car fire on Chilako Station Road followed by human remains being found in the West Lake area, which were then identified as 41-year-old Kristopher Bychk.

Police say a canvass of West Lake and Chilako areas have been done and video footage has also been reviewed, but add forensic analysis is ongoing.

Authorities are now appealing to the public for information related to a black Dodge Neon that has a distinct spoiler and a white design on the side.

The car could have been in the West Lake and Chilako Road areas in or around Jan.12, 2019.
