Prince George’s Exploration Place has received great interest from engineers in joining their team in helping conduct a popular attraction.

The museum’s Little Prince train is the only 24-inch narrow gauge steam engine in all of North America, bringing in thousands of riders each summer it operates.

As a result of the overwhelming number of responses, Exploration Place is hosting an information session next week where potential new Fort George Railway engineers can learn about the railway and the requirements needed to receive certification.

In a release, the museum will conduct informal conversations with interested residents, as opposed to one-on-one, with the goal is to set up formal interviews in the two weeks following the event.

The information session is set for Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m.; Chief Engineer John Calogheros will be in attendance with Engineers Frank VanDerLans and Nick Chapman.

Exploration Place would like those wishing to come aboard to bring Spring and Summer availability hours.
