On Our Radar: BC Honey Producers conference buzzing its way to Prince George

If you're one who has a passion for bees and want to learn more from top experts about beekeeping, here's your chance. 

The BC Honey Producers Association will be hosting their 2019 Conference and Trade Show in Prince George on Oct. 4, 5 and 6 at the Coast Inn of the North. 

Top experts will share how important pollinators are to human life. 

Speakers and topics include: 

  • Karen Pederson: Inside a Five-Generation Saskatchewan Apiary
  • Sara Red-Laird: Adventures in Dirt and Honey
  • Ian Steppler: A look into a Single Box Commercial Operation
  • Kristen Traynor: Effects of Fungicides on Queen Fertility 
  • Stephen Pernal: Apimondia and Beekeeping Research in Canada
  • Kathleen Suddes: Beekeeping on the Sunshine Coast
  • Medhat Nasr: What's Hot and Not After 50+ Years of Beekeeping
  • Amina Harris: Taste and Evaluate Honey: Matching Flowers to Flavours

Beekeepers and trade show vendors from all over the province will also be in attendance and discussion will revolve around what you can do to help bring the bees back to B.C.
