Calling all anglers!

Why not spend the day on the lake fishing while raising money for charity?

The fourth annual Charity Fishing Derby at Purden Lake is coming up this weekend. The derby is raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Kordyban Lodge, which provides accommodation for people who’ve come to Prince George for cancer treatments.

Registration is $40 per person or $100 per family and this includes lunch and kids’ activities. There are 13 fishing prizes, 50/50 draws and 40 door prizes for adults and children.

The whole thing takes place this Saturday, May 25, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Purden Lake, which is about 45 minutes east from downtown Prince George.

You can also register for the event online.
