Prince George’s annual fundraiser A Taste of India is back for its ninth year.

The annual event is put on by the Yellowhead Rotary Club of Prince George, to raise money for community projects and charities.

The night itself includes cocktails, silent and live auctions, live entertainment, and of course, Indian cuisine.

This year the band Delhi 2 Dublin will perform. They are a Canadian world music group who play a fusion of Bhangra and Celtic music along with a mashup of other genres like funk and hip hop.

The tickets for the event will set you back $100, but the funds from this year’s events are going to help support worthwhile local and international initiatives.

Locally, the money raised will go towards renovations at St. Patrick’s House and the Nechako Branch of the Prince George Public Library.

Internationally, the money will go to partnerships with FullSoul Canada, who provide medical supplies for labour and delivery in Uganda.

Over the years, A Taste of India has raised over $430,000 for Rotary Initiatives.

Some of the past projects the money has supported include the School District 57 Meals Program, Prince George Kordyban Cancer Lodge, Elizabeth Fry Society’s Amber House and Family Resource Centre Preschool, and The Rotary Club House at Big Brothers and Big Sisters, to name a few.

You can purchase tickets online through Theatre NorthWest, or you can go down to Books and Company (1685 Third Ave.) and pick them up in person.

The whole thing takes place at the Civic Centre (808 Canada Games Way) on Mar. 2, 2019, from 6 to 11 p.m.
