Does your dog need to get in shape and make some friends?

If so, why not find out if your pooch has a hidden talent for skijoring (cross-country skiing with your dog) or dog-sled racing?

Dog Power Adventures, a local dog training centre that specializes in snow sports, is hosting a skijor and sled dog training workshop that will teach you the basics.

And don’t worry if you don’t have skis, a kick sled or dog harness; Dog Sled Power Adventures will reserve the proper gear for you and your four-legged companion.

The training will be followed by a run through winter trails. Any dog that loves running can do the sport, including standard poodles, Bernese Mountain dogs, border collies, labs, spaniels, hounds, retrievers, cattle dogs, mix breeds and more.

The training dates are Saturday, Jan. 19 (1 to 3 p.m.) and Sunday, Jan. 20 (10 a.m. to noon) at 14295 Chief Lake Rd. The cost will set you back $30 for one day or $50 for the two days.

On Our Radar is just a thing we do when we're looking forward to an event or think the public should be aware of it. Think you have something for it? Email us at news@princegeorgematters.com.
