Another candidate has announced their intentions to run in the upcoming federal election in Oct. 2019.

Jing Lan Yang has been tapped as the People's Party candidate for the Cariboo-Prince George riding, currently occupied by Conservative Todd Doherty.

Yang (who prefers to go by Young) will officially be introduced on June 29, 2019, during the Williams Lake Stampede Parade.

In a news release, the party says Young is a former teacher from the Lower Mainland, having more than 20 years of experience in B.C. as well as Canadian issues.

The People's Party was founded in 2018 by Maxime Bernier.

They were officially recognized by Elections Canada on Jan. 28, 2019.

"Our new party presents a full platform focused on the needs and concerns of normal Canadians and is working to field candidates in all of Canada’s 338 ridings this fall," the release adds.
