Mounties in Prince George have announced one of the two persons of interest in a homicide case has been identified.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says police asked for the public's help in identifying two men on Friday (Oct. 11).

Later that day, and at separate times, both men attended the Prince George RCMP detachment and presented themselves to police.

Search warrants were then obtained for a house and vehicle associated with one of the persons of interest, who is now being considered a suspect according to Douglass.

The second person was cleared of any involvement in the death and released

The suspect has been released pending further investigation and analysis of evidence.

Charges have not been laid to date, but the investigation is ongoing.

The fight happened Friday, Oct. 4 at approximately 11:20 p.m., where two persons were involved in a physical altercation near the intersection of 20th Ave. and Redwood Street.

As a result of the incident, 35-year-old Gregory Wale suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Shortly after the arrival at the hospital, Wale left on his own accord prior to receiving medical attention.

Just before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, Wale was located deceased at his Edmonton Street home.
