Have you taken an introductory art class, do you play a classical instrument, or are you currently working full-time as a graphic designer?

Well, regardless of your creative activity, the Prince George and District Community Arts Council (CAC) would like an opinion on what defines the city’s culture.

In conjunction with the CAC’s 50th anniversary, a survey has been established and will gather information from local residents up until Mar. 1, 2019.

Once completed, the project will help inform planning for the new location of the CAC located at 1310 3rd Ave., the same building currently occupied by the Prince George Farmers’ Market.

CAC Executive Director Sean Farrell said what his team is looking for are three-fold.

“What is it that you do, classify, self-identify as doing in the creative sector, where do you do it, and approximately, how much do you spend a year on that activity? We want to try and create an economic profile and impact on what the creative sector provides to the city and the community as well.”

Professions and hobbies can range from videography to landscaping, culinary arts to local food growers, and CAC hopes the information they obtain will help them grow as an organization in adapting to the modern world.

The project has been in the works for the last six months, according to Farrell.

The census is sponsored by the City of Prince George through a community funding grant.
