Prince George sees decline in COVID-19 cases during latest seven-day reporting period

Prince George has seen a decrease in COVID-19 cases, according to the latest data from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). 

From Feb. 14-20, 2021, the local health area recorded 70 cases which is still the highest count in the north. 

Peace River South added 22 cases, while the Peace River North region saw 31 total cases.

The Nechako area added an additional four cases and Quesnel saw another two. 

As of this publication (Feb. 25), Northern Health has seen 4,437 COVID-19 cases across the authority since March of last year. 

A total of 105 lives have been lost as a result of the virus. 

There are 264 cases active while 34 people are currently hospitalized, 12 of which are in critical care/ICU.

The BCCDC says 4,057 have been classified as fully recovered. 

B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix are scheduled to give an in-person briefing this afternoon at 1 p.m.
