Winter is cold, snowy and slushy and some, unfortunately, are suffering on the streets.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Prince George is looking for boots to help those who don't have proper footwear outside.

The group says in a Facebook post that they've had drop-in guests coming in for meals that are wearing nothing but socks, broken shoes and even wet boots lined with plastic bags.

Boots are accepted for all ages and genders but the society tells PrinceGeorgeMatters they are especially looking for men's and women's boots.

Usable, used condition items are welcome.

If you have any boots to donate, you can drop them off at the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store which is located at 1645 3rd Ave. between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
