The COVID-19 pandemic has changed up a lot of things lately and has even given Santa the year off from his annual mall visits.

Prince George's Pine Centre Mall announced today (Nov. 18) it's cancelling all holiday public events including the in-person Santa experience.

“Due to the ongoing situation surrounding Covid-19 and as a precautionary measure to help contain the spread of Covid-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all public events including the in-person Santa experience for this holiday season,” says a post to Pine Centre Mall Facebook page.

“While we regret having to cancel these activities, Pine Centre is committed to the health and safety of our tenants, guests, employees, and community.”

The mall says it will be offering four contact-free selfie stations throughout Pine Centre as well as online contests and promotions.

“We will continue to monitor this evolving situation and communicate with you as updates and events require additional attention, thank you for your understand and support.”
