Temperatures will dip more south than expected to start the Family Day weekend in Prince George.

Environment Canada is calling for a mix of sun and clouds for today (Feb. 16), but winds will gust from the north at 20 km/h, making outside feel like -27 C in the morning and -20 C in the afternoon.

The risk of frostbite is imminent once again, so residents are encouraged to bundle up if plans are to stay outside for a long period of time.

The high will reach -12 C once the fog patches go away.

By bedtime, winds could blow as fast as 40 km/h to make it seem like a chilling -32 C outside.
