They may have got away empty-handed, but Prince George RCMP are hoping the public can help track down the suspect.

According to Mounties, an attempted armed robbery took place Wednesday night (Sept. 23) after 11 p.m. where a man approached a woman, pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money.

This took place in a parking lot on 400-block Carney Street.

The victim and several witnesses told police they believe the suspect was carrying a cap gun after he fired it twice and no one was injured.

He then fled west, empty-handed, towards Douglas Street before officers arrived.

A Police Dog Services team was called in to help find the man, but all efforts since have come up negative.

The only description being provided at this time is that the suspect was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with more information is being asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go online to www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
