Two people have been arrested and three others are on the run after a pair of separate robberies at a local electronics store.

Cpl. Craig Douglass with Prince George RCMP says just after noon on Tuesday (Sept. 10), police received a report of a robbery from an electronic store located on Walls Avenue.

Police say two men and a woman took products from a shelf and rushed towards the exit while avoiding the checkout counter.

A staff member of the store was threatened by one of the men, who was wielding a knife.

All three suspects left the store and took off on bikes and Douglass adds no injuries were reported.

When police arrived, the suspects could not be found.

After investigating, the identities of the two men were discovered and were eventually arrested the next day (Sept. 11).

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges against 27-year-old Kennan Frank Sam of Prince George:

  • Fail to comply with probation (four counts)
  • Robbery
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
  • Uttering threats

Charges were also approved against a 15-year-old youth that can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act:

  • Robbery
  • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace

Both men will remain in custody until their next court date on Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Charges are also approved against Chelsie Danika Johnny of Prince George, in which Mounties have issued an arrest warrant for the 19-year old:

  • First Nations woman
  • 163 cm (5'4")
  • 50 kg (110 lbs)
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes

The same Walls Avenue store was also the target of a separate robbery in just one week.

Douglass says police received a report of a robbery just before 1 p.m. on Sept. 3.

Two men tried to walk out of the store with merchandise valued at over $500 with one suspect pulling what appeared to be a knife, threatening staff before leaving the store.

Both men took off on bikes, but an alert witness was able to take photos.

Police say they have been unsuccessful in identifying the two suspects, and now they're asking for the public to help identify the two.

The first suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Dark hair with a full beard
  • Tattoo on the left side of his neck
  • Wearing a green camo ball cap, a black hoody with red writing on the front and white writing on the arm
  • Wearing blue jeans
  • Black runners

The second suspect is described as:

  • First Nations male
  • Dark hair
  • Wearing a black hoody, black ball cap with a 'P' on the front
  • White runners
  • Grey track pants with a white stripe down the side

Douglass adds both suspects had backpacks.

Investigators believe the two suspects are not the same two that were arrested on Sept. 11 in regards to the second robbery.
