A Prince George Tim Hortons location has closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

In an emailed statement to PrinceGeorgeMatters, the company says its College Heights location has been closed due to a team member tested positive for the virus on Sunday (Nov. 22). The worker's last shift worked was on Nov. 16.

"The team member and those who worked with them are self-isolating for 14 days and will be supported through Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to provide for any lost wages," the company said.

"We wish them well and look forward to seeing all team members once their self-isolation is complete."

The company says in following public health guidelines, the restaurant location has been closed for cleaning and sanitization.

The drive-thru is expected to re-open at 5 a.m. on Dec. 1 and full store operations on Dec. 3.
