The Prince George Spruce Kings have acquired forward Sam Kozlowski from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for the Canadian Junior Hockey League playing rights to Ethan O’Rourke and future considerations.

O’Rourke is currently in the Western Hockey League, but would have to return to Coquitlam if he left Tier one Junior.

Kozlowski, from Delta, B.C., is entering his third season in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League. He posted eight goals and 22 assists in 55 games last season. He has put up 19 goals and 33 assists in 107 career games.

Kyle Anderson, marketing and promotions director for the Kings, says they have acquired a solid, two-way forward. He is committed to RIT for next season.

Sam will join his Spruce Kings teammates for this weekend's games, as the Spruce Kings open the season Friday (Sept. 7) at 7 p.m. when they take on the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Join the fun for a pre-game barbecue in front of the RMCA presented by Save on Foods, and make sure you’re in your seats for the player introductions and banner ceremony starting at 7 p.m. Game 2 of the season goes Saturday (Sept. 8) at 7 p.m., again versus the Chiefs.
